Maersk Line is one of the leading liner shipping companies in the world serving customers all over the globe.

With a fleet numbering more than 500 container vessels and more than 1400000 containers we ensure reliable and comprehensive worldwide coverage. Our feeder vessels trucks and dedicated trains allow us to offer a unique concept of door-to-door services.

Maersk Line is represented in Panama by Maersk Panama S.A. Operations officially started January 1992 with ten staff members one office with the opening of two services the Andean Service covering East Coast of USA Panama and West Coast of South America serviced by by three vessels.

Today Maersk Panama S. A. is represented in three locations in Panama. In Panama City Pacific Side Balboa Panama Ports Company/ Pacific Side and Colon Manzanillo International Terminal/Atlantic Side with more than two hundred hardworking and motivated Panamanians receiving twenty-eight vessel calls per week at the ports of Balboa and Manzanillo.

Maersk Panama S. A. contributes with more than $200 million to the local Panamanian economy being the largest user of the Panama Canal as well as the ports of Balboa Manzanillo and Panama Canal Railway.

In 1996 a local trucking company was established BIT Bridge Intermodal Transport. Today it serves as the local trucking company for Maersk Line Panama.

In 2001 we established two new companies ECS Equipment Container Solutions on the Pacific Side and Maersk Logistic on the Atlantic Side.

Our growth has continued and we have a strong presence in all the sectors of the Panamanian economy helping our beloved country while creating opportunities in global commerce.
